Duties and responsibilities:

Health information specialist obtains post and analyze medical, workload, finance and insurance data. There a variety of job specialties within this field including registered record administrators Record technicians and certified coding specialist.

Health information specialist work in hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, physicians’ offices, and many other medical settings.

Salary:

Coding specialist: 20,000 - $25,000

Records technician: $25-000, $30,000

Records administrations: $30,000 - $40,000

Education: students should take high school courses in business, information management science, math and English. Coding specialist most has a high school diploma or GED certificate.  Tra8ining is usually conducted on the job, but classes are offered at community colleges.
