Sonographer (ultrasound technician)
Duties and responsibilities: Sonography is a dynamic profession that has grown significantly over the past 20 years with rapidly technologies and increased use of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, growth is projected to continue in the future with technologists can choose to work in clinics, hospitals, private practice physician offices, public laboratories, and other medical settings performing examinations in their ares of specialization opportunities exist, education, administration, research, and in commercial companies as education specialists, sales representatives, technical advisors, etc.

  3. Bend and stoop routinely
  4. Have full use of both hands, wrists and shoulders
  5. Distinguish audible sounds
  6. Work standing on their feet 80% of the time

  8. Communicate effectively with patients and other health care professionals 
  9. Organize and accurately perform the individual steps in a sonographic procedure in the proper sequence
  10. Adequately view sonograms, including color distinctions
Salary: $91,070 - $44,990 
Educational Requirements: Get a high school diploma or GED in order to enroll in the educational programs that prepare you to become an ultra sound technician. As part of your prep for a career as an ultrasound technician, study math, english, computer science, health and both the physical and life sciences as part of your high school curriculum. Get clinical training while you enroll in a program, you'll have opportunities to take internships that provide hands-on clinical experience. You'll learn ultra sound skill in a healthcare settings and have the opportunity to put what you've learned into practice.
